Battalion

An emergency call without having to alert the firefighters. Battalion in San Antonio, an historic and beautifully redone firehouse turned restaurant on S Alamo St, is the Italian flair adventurers need in their lives. The brick building and those vintage glass windows will excite adventurers to already have an order of mozzarella sticks. Walk inside, and see there’s not the traditional Italian feel; however, how many people can say they’ve enjoyed vino and lasagna inside a firehouse? Also, don’t get comfortable on the main floor. Head up the stairs and feel out the vibes. Maybe sit at one of the nicely designed grey tables next to a window or pop a squat right on a red chair facing the window for the light. There are also dark colored booths with smaller white chairs, but really, seating in a firehouse isn’t the thing firefighters worried about. It’s food!  - Jordan Dietterich of Surfside, Florida
