Chicken fried steak; eggs benedict; country skillet; steak anything; green chile omelet and french toast anyone would enjoy. Los Altos Breakfast Lunch & Dinner is that restaurant. Walk in the doors and be ready for a strong smell of mother’s breakfast on a Sunday morning. Just know Los Altos is north of Sparks, located in Sun Valley.

A home-style restaurant with the feel of Northern Nevada. Sparks Coffee Shop maybe busy at times, but worth the wait for a delicious plate! Serving breakfast all day long, a patron can expect to be seated at a one of a kind booth: headrests with pictures of all things Reno-Sparks. Reminiscent almost of a new-aged western diner. Upon sitting at either a booth or table, the menu is very much so an “American Classic.” One awesome added feature is ‘gravy lovers’ and it’s a dream. No matter if the mood is breakfast, brunch or dinner, special home fries with a steak omelet is a go-to choice.

Comfort food done right. Wet Hen Cafe is not located in the downtown area and requires a drive down south. It’s right off South McCarran Blvd. in a shopping plaza, corner building. Don’t let their location shy away a chance at a generational cafe. Upon walking in, customers get to see a lot of chicken-related mementos, followed by classic wooden chairs for seats. Comforting is an understatement while eating here. Wet Hen Cafe is an inviting coop with mouth-watering food, run by decades of experience in the kitchen. All fresh, all the time is the motto of this destination. Make sure a bakery item is included in the meal.

How a classic American restaurant should be. The Cup Café is family owned, and it shows. It’s a classic place, and the meals are far from average. Sink a monstrous bite in country sausage breakfast… for anyone looking for help. Benedict fans should choose the bacon avocado benedict with a side of home fries maybe add some cheese to it. Virginia Street is usually busy, so double check traffic before heading out the door.
Homage Bakery & Coffeehouse
Who would’ve thought Europe could find its way to Reno. At Homage, it’s like walking through European streets and smelling the fresh scents of bakeries and coffee houses. For people looking to walk from a downtown casino into a slice of paradise, go here. Outdoor seating is a vibe in itself. Maybe too much time spent around the gaming machine lights? Sit in the patio and enjoy the Northern Nevada outdoors. Albeit hopefully no snow. This cozy, old house is such a delight for pastry and espresso lovers.
