300 years of history and one artsy square block in the heart of downtown San Antonio is home to the Arneson River Theater at the Shops of La Villita. This “Little Village” is an outdoor performance theater located on the Riverwalk and a treasured Artisan and Entrepreneur district with over 25 shops and galleries that showcase local handmade goods. Riverwalk

 

A trip to San Antonio is not complete without visiting the famous Riverwalk. It is a city park and network of walkways along the banks of the San Antonio River, one story beneath the streets of San Antonio. This world-renowned urban waterway is a special way to experience a lively city full of culture. A ride on a riverboat is an option with boat tours, boat taxis and private dining boats. Pearl Historic District

 

Relaxation has found a home in the Pearl Historic District in Downtown San Antonio. This top culinary and cultural destination is perfect for a weekend stroll with live music, restaurants, retail therapy, picturesque green spaces, craft breweries and also a farmers market. The newly renovated Pearl Brewery exemplifies the area with its industrial meets hipster style and vintage blended with modern refurbished metal. The third campus of The Culinary Institute of America enriches with community and offers a master class in Latin cuisine. The 22 acre site is perfect for families and pets and has something for everyone.

 

 

A lush oasis sits hidden in Breckenridge Park just outside of downtown San Antonio. The Japanese Tea Gardens opened in an abandoned limestone rock quarry in the early 20th century and was recently renovated to provide a unique and beautiful spot far from the norm. The Gardens display a gorgeous year-round garden, floral display with shaded walkways, stone arch bridges, a 60 foot waterfall, Koi ponds and so much more. The Jingu House Cafe also offers a variety of Asian inspired dishes and hot and cold teas to enjoy to complete the experience. 

 

 

Boasting the largest known commercial caverns in the state of Texas, the Natural Bridge Caverns in San Antonio sets the stage for adventure and exploration. The Caverns offer two distinct cave systems to explore, as well as a rope course, zip line, 5,000 square foot outdoor maze, mining for fossils, gems and other treasures. The Bracken Bat Flight is a special event only offered in the summer where you get to experience the largest bat colony in the world take flight into the night sky forming what may be the largest single gathering of mammals on earth.
