Season: Marietta’s Thoughtful Newcomer of Nuanced Classics

Marietta’s Lemon Street area, just outside the historic square, combines small-town charm with professional energy, attracting young and mid-life adults, couples, and singles who appreciate quality in a setting of established order. The neighborhood supports a sense of community continuity and purposeful daily living.

Chef-owner Nick Jennings opened Season in September 2024 after years honing his craft across Southern kitchens. Born and raised in Ellijay, he brings a focus on nuanced classics prepared with high-quality ingredients from reputable purveyors. The restaurant quickly established itself through consistent excellence and a philosophy centered on connection through food, expanding recently with a second outpost while maintaining the original’s high standards.

The interior is compact yet carefully arranged, with an open kitchen that allows guests to observe the precise work of the team. Comfortable seating and clean finishes create an atmosphere of focused calm, where every detail supports the enjoyment of well-prepared plates. Natural light and thoughtful spacing encourage a sense of ordered hospitality.

Signature dishes include the house-made biscuits with various toppings such as pork belly or duck, maduros-stuffed buttermilk pancakes, red chorizo chilaquiles, and the croque madam. The breakfast tasting offers a curated selection, while house-made syrups elevate coffee and beverage options. Cheeseburgers and other lunch extensions maintain the same level of care for those staying longer.

Pros: Remarkable consistency for a newer establishment; genuine chef-driven focus on classics elevated through technique; strong community orientation paired with professional execution.

Graceful Cons: Limited seating and hours (closed Mondays and Tuesdays) mean planning ahead is wise; the intimate scale prioritizes quality over volume, which may require patience during popular times.

Season is named a Citywide Spotlight Diamond Destination as a newcomer demonstrating clear potential to rank among the city’s best through continued growth and unwavering standards. Amenities include reservation options, a virtual waitlist for convenience, and a location that rewards those willing to travel slightly outside the urban core. Choosing Season over less intentional alternatives delivers the benefit of chef-led precision, ingredients selected with care, and an atmosphere of traditional comfort that values both the guest and the craft of cooking.
