Lilette has occupied 3637 Magazine since 2001, when chef John Harris opened a French-Italian dining room that critics still describe as one of the prettiest in the neighborhood. Harris, raised in his Italian mother’s kitchen and named among Food & Wine’s Best New Chefs in 2002, has kept the restaurant for a quarter century without planting a second city on the map. James Beard finalist nods followed. The menu holds duck confit and bouillabaisse beside seasonal plates. The room holds its color and its dim light.
